The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5995702 is a taper length cobalt drill bit in the M52CO series, sized at No. 35 (7/64 inch, 0.1100 inch decimal). It features a 135-degree split point with web thinning for self-centering starts and reduced thrust, making it suitable for high-performance drilling in hard and abrasive materials. The gold oxide coating and cobalt construction provide heat resistance and edge retention at elevated cutting temperatures. At 2.75 inches of flute length and 5.125 inches overall, this bit is longer than a jobber-length drill, giving clearance for deeper holes without extension tooling. Right-hand spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople are the primary users.
This bit is engineered for demanding material applications including alloy steel, stainless steel, hardened steel, cast iron, malleable iron, nickel and nickel alloys, brass, bronze, high-strength bronze, copper, aluminum, aluminum alloy, magnesium, magnesium alloy, carbon steel, cermet, graphite, and reinforced plastic. The taper length profile suits production drilling and repair work where a jobber bit lacks reach. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders without adapters. It is appropriate for bench drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held electric drills where chuck capacity accommodates the 0.1100-inch shank diameter.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or production drill bit for any standard drill chuck or collet system accepting a 0.1100-inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with bench drill presses, milling machines, CNC machining centers, and hand-held electric drills capable of accommodating this shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotary cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before cutting. Power down and lock out the machine before changing bits. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material, and avoid side-loading the bit, which can cause breakage at this diameter.
