The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5995701 is a taper length cobalt drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding shop and field applications. Built from cobalt tool material with a coated finish, this bit features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and lowers thrust force at the start of each hole. The straight shank and right-hand spiral flute make it compatible with standard drill chucks and drilling equipment. At 0.1110 inches in diameter and 5.125 inches overall length, it is suited for machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians who need reliable performance in tough materials.
This drill bit is engineered for use across a wide range of materials including alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, hardened steel, cast iron, malleable iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, high strength bronze, copper, nickel, nickel alloy, magnesium, magnesium alloy, cermet, graphite, and reinforced plastics. It is a strong fit for production machining, toolroom work, and heavy-duty maintenance drilling where a standard jobber-length bit lacks the reach needed to complete the bore.
Designed for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks. Compatible material applications include alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, cermet, copper, graphite, hardened steel, high strength bronze, magnesium, magnesium alloy, malleable iron, nickel, nickel alloy, reinforced plastic materials, and stainless steel. Part of the PRECISION TWIST DRILL M52CO series.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or technicians familiar with drilling operations and cutting tool safety. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and ensure the drill chuck is properly tightened on the straight shank before starting the spindle. Power down and de-energize all equipment before changing drill bits or inspecting tooling. Do not exceed the recommended speed and feed range for the material being drilled, and use cutting fluid where appropriate to manage heat buildup in cobalt tooling.
