The PRECISION BRAND 43020 is a hot melt strippable protective coating formulated to shield metal components from rust, corrosion, and physical damage during shipping, handling, and long-term storage. This solvent-based coating features an ethylcellulose base and arrives presliced into manageable pieces for easy handling. It applies within a temperature range of 340 to 350 degrees F and reaches a touch-dry state in approximately 1 minute, making it a fast-turnaround solution for production and shop environments. Coverage ranges from 20 to 35 square feet per gallon depending on application method. The coating produces zero VOC content (0 g/L) and carries a UL Listed rating, meeting ASTM D3389-10 standards.
This coating is used primarily in industrial and manufacturing environments to protect ferrous metal parts including cutting tools, saw blades, gages, gears, and other machined components. It is well suited for outdoor storage applications where parts are exposed to humidity and handling. The coating strips cleanly when protection is no longer needed, leaving parts ready for use or further processing. The 5-pound poly bag format is designed for easy handling and storage in shop or warehouse settings.
Designed for use on steel and ferrous metal components including cutting tools, saw blades, gages, gears, and similar machined parts requiring temporary protective coating during shipping, handling, or long-term outdoor storage.
This product is applied by trained shop or industrial personnel using standard hot melt application equipment. Ensure the substrate is clean and dry before application. Verify that application equipment can maintain the required temperature range of 340 to 350 degrees F throughout the process. Allow the coating to fully cure before packaging or stacking coated parts.
