The Potter Electric VSR-3 is a vane type waterflow switch designed for wet sprinkler systems. It is listed by UL for use on steel pipes in schedule sizes five to forty, from two to six inches. This device is also approved by FM for pipes in the same schedule range, from two to eight inches. The VSR-3 can serve as a sectional waterflow detector on larger systems. It includes two single pole double throw switches and an adjustable, recycling pneumatic retard. These switches activate when water flow reaches ten gallons per minute or more downstream. The device requires a sustained flow for a duration necessary to surpass the selected retard period. The switches and retard mechanism are housed in a die-cast enclosure, which is secured with two tamper-resistant screws. An optional cover tamper switch is available to signal unauthorized cover removal.
