The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL CO. US VSR-FE2-6 is a 6-inch electronic flow switch designed to detect water movement in wet-pipe fire sprinkler systems. It signals the fire alarm control panel when flow occurs, triggering audible and visual alarms or system monitoring responses. The VSR-FE2-6 fits into a 6-inch pipe section and uses an electronic paddle-style sensing mechanism to minimize false alarms caused by pressure fluctuations. Licensed fire alarm and sprinkler contractors install this device as part of a listed fire protection system. Its compact body and terminal-block wiring simplify rough-in and final connection.
The VSR-FE2-6 is used in commercial and light industrial wet-pipe sprinkler systems where a 6-inch main or branch riser requires flow detection. It is a waterflow equipment component rated for a single pipe size, making it appropriate for larger-diameter mains common in multi-story commercial buildings, warehouses, and industrial occupancies. The switch is sold as a single unit and is intended for permanent installation in monitored fire suppression systems.
Designed as an OEM-style electronic waterflow switch for use on 6-inch wet-pipe fire sprinkler systems. Consult the manufacturer product manual for full listing and compatibility details before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire sprinkler or fire alarm contractor in accordance with NFPA 13 and NFPA 72, as well as all applicable local codes. Shut down the sprinkler system water supply and depressurize the affected pipe section completely before cutting into the line or removing any fittings. Low-voltage wiring connections to the fire alarm control panel should comply with NEC Article 760. After installation, a full flow test must be performed and documented to verify proper operation before returning the system to service.
