The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL pad100-cd is an analog addressable carbon monoxide (CO) sensor designed for life safety fire alarm systems. It uses a proven electrochemical sensing cell to detect CO gas accurately and report readings back to a compatible fire alarm control panel over an addressable loop. The sensor communicates using the Potter Addressable Device (PAD) protocol, making it a direct fit for PAD-based panel installations. The sensor head is constructed from durable plastic in an off-white finish to blend with standard ceiling surfaces. A compatible addressable base is required for mounting but is sold separately.
This sensor is intended for commercial and residential life safety installations where addressable CO detection is required. It is typically installed by licensed fire alarm technicians or electricians working under NFPA 72 guidelines. The addressable architecture allows each device to report its exact location on the panel, simplifying diagnostics and reducing response time during a CO event. It is suited for ceiling-mount applications in occupied buildings where CO from combustion sources poses a risk to occupants.
Compatible with any fire alarm control panel that supports the Potter Addressable Device (PAD) protocol. Requires a separately purchased compatible addressable base for installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or qualified electrician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out power to the addressable loop and fire alarm control panel before wiring any devices. The base is not included and must be sourced separately prior to installation. Do not install the sensor head onto the base until all wiring connections are complete and verified.
