The PIPE E250 is a 2.5-inch EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing) conduit section used to route and protect electrical conductors in residential, commercial, and light industrial wiring systems. EMT conduit provides a rigid metallic raceway that shields wiring from mechanical damage while allowing conductors to be pulled, replaced, or added without disturbing finished walls or structures. Licensed electricians install EMT conduit as part of branch circuit and feeder wiring systems in accordance with NEC Article 358. The 2.5-inch trade size accommodates higher-capacity conductor fills suited to larger feeder runs and service entrance applications.
This conduit is used in commercial and residential electrical installations where a cost-effective metallic raceway is required. Typical applications include exposed or concealed runs in dry or damp locations, panel feeder runs, and equipment branch circuits. The 2.5-inch trade size is commonly specified on larger commercial projects and industrial service work where conductor fill requirements exceed what smaller trade sizes can accommodate.
Designed for use with standard 2.5-inch EMT fittings, connectors, and couplings per NEC Article 358 requirements for electrical metallic tubing installations.
EMT conduit installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in compliance with NEC Article 358 and applicable local electrical codes. De-energize all circuits in the work area before making conductor connections. Use a properly sized mechanical or hydraulic conduit bender rated for 2.5-inch EMT to form offsets and bends without kinking the tubing. Secure conduit runs with listed straps or hangers at intervals required by the NEC.
