The PIP INDUSTRIES S8565 is a Shade 5 uncoated polycarbonate replacement visor designed for use with the Uvex Bionic faceshield system. This lens provides optical-quality clarity with infrared and UV filtering appropriate for welding, cutting, and brazing tasks that generate intense light and radiant heat. At 0.205 pounds, the visor is lightweight and balanced for extended wear without fatigue. It installs in one of two mounting positions on the compatible carrier, allowing adjustment to suit the wearer's preference. Designed for replacement use, it restores a worn or damaged faceshield assembly to full protective service without replacing the entire carrier or headgear.
This replacement visor is suited for industrial maintenance, fabrication, and mechanical work environments where face protection against molten metal splash, sparks, and optical radiation is required. Typical users include welders, pipefitters, HVAC technicians performing torch work, and maintenance mechanics. The Shade 5 green tint is appropriate for light gas welding and cutting operations. The uncoated polycarbonate construction offers impact resistance without an anti-fog or hardcoat treatment, making it well suited for dry, controlled environments where lens coatings are not a priority.
Designed as a replacement visor for use with the Uvex Bionic faceshield carrier system. Compatible replacement lenses in the Uvex Bionic line are also available in Clear, Shade 3, and Shade 5 with anti-fog hardcoat or uncoated finishes.
Installation is performed by the end user or a safety equipment technician and requires no tools. Power down or de-energize any associated equipment before servicing PPE in a live work area. Remove the existing visor from the carrier by following the carrier release mechanism, then seat the replacement visor in the desired mounting position until it clicks securely. Inspect the carrier frame and headgear suspension for wear or damage before returning the assembly to service.
