The PFERD 67258 is a Type 27 ceramic flap disc designed for aggressive grinding and blending on stainless steel and carbon steel surfaces. Measuring 4.5 inches in diameter with a 5/8-11 arbor hole, it is rated to 13,300 RPM and carries a medium-grade, 60-grit ceramic abrasive bonded to individual coated flaps. The fiberglass backing plate provides rigidity and heat resistance during sustained use. The disc is trimmable, allowing operators to expose fresh abrasive and extend working life. It is a standard tool for fabricators, pipefitters, welders, and metalworkers who need consistent stock removal and surface conditioning in a single pass.
This flap disc is suited for flat and contoured surface work on stainless steel and mild steel in fabrication shops, industrial maintenance, and field welding applications. The Type 27 flat profile keeps the grinding face flush to the workpiece, making it effective for surface blending, weld dressing, and deburring on sheet metal and structural components. The 5/8-11 threaded arbor fits standard 4.5-inch angle grinders commonly used in these trades.
Designed for use on standard 4.5-inch angle grinders with a 5/8-11 threaded spindle. Rated for grinding and surface conditioning on stainless steel and carbon steel.
Install on a 4.5-inch angle grinder with a 5/8-11 spindle and verify the tool RPM rating meets or exceeds 13,300 RPM before operation. Confirm the disc is fully seated and the locking nut is tightened before powering the tool. Always wear appropriate PPE including face shield, gloves, and hearing protection. Do not exceed the disc RPM rating and inspect the disc for damage before each use.
