The PFERD 47801305 is a mounted flap wheel designed for surface finishing, blending, and deburring on metal and similar materials. It features an aluminum oxide abrasive coating rated at medium grade (80 grit), mounted on a 1/4-inch shank for use with die grinders and drill presses. The wheel measures 1-1/2 inches in outside diameter with a 1-inch face width, making it well suited for contoured surfaces and tight workpiece geometries. Maximum operating speed is 23,000 RPM. Machinists, fabricators, and maintenance trades install this type of wheel for precision surface work where a rigid grinding disc would be too aggressive.
This mounted flap wheel is used in metalworking, fabrication, and MRO applications where consistent stock removal and surface finishing are required on interior bores, curved profiles, or complex contours. Its 1/4-inch shank fits standard die grinder chucks and flexible shaft tools commonly found in machine shops, welding shops, and light manufacturing environments. The coated aluminum oxide construction performs reliably on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Designed for use with die grinders, flexible shaft machines, and drill presses equipped with a standard 1/4-inch collet or chuck. Suitable for general metalworking finishing applications on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
Mounting is performed by inserting the 1/4-inch shank into the tool collet and tightening securely before operation. Ensure the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 23,000 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Disconnect or de-energize the rotary tool before mounting or removing the wheel. Always wear appropriate eye protection and observe applicable shop safety standards during grinding operations.
