The PFERD 47801276 is a mounted flap wheel designed for precision surface finishing, deburring, and blending on metal workpieces. It features an aluminum oxide coated abrasive at 80 grit, which places it in the medium grade range — effective for moderate stock removal while leaving a consistent surface finish. The wheel mounts via a 1/4 inch shank and spins at up to 25,000 RPM, making it suitable for use with die grinders and rotary tools. The compact 1-3/16 inch diameter and 1/4 inch face width allow access to tight contours, bores, and irregular surfaces that larger wheels cannot reach. This part is installed and used by machinists, maintenance technicians, fabricators, and metalworking trade professionals.
This mounted flap wheel is suited for applications involving interior surface finishing, contour blending, and light deburring on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive performs well on steel, cast iron, and aluminum in both shop and field maintenance environments. The shank mount allows quick chuck-in with standard 1/4 inch collets on pneumatic or electric die grinders. It is well suited to production work, weld blending, and surface prep tasks in fabrication, tool and die, and general metalworking settings.
Designed for use with die grinders and rotary tools equipped with a standard 1/4 inch collet. Suitable for metalworking applications on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Installation is performed by machinists or metalworking technicians using a die grinder with a matching 1/4 inch collet. Always verify the tool's rated RPM meets or exceeds the wheel's 25,000 RPM maximum before mounting. Ensure the tool is fully powered down and depressurized before changing wheels. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during installation and operation.
