The PFERD 19607204 is a Swiss-pattern half round file designed for precision hand filing on metal workpieces. Cut 2 designates a second-cut tooth pattern, which removes material at a moderate rate while leaving a smoother surface finish than a bastard cut. The file measures 8 inches in overall length, 3/4 inches wide, and 7/32 inches thick, with a tang end for use with a standard file handle. It is suited for work on stainless steel and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals where controlled material removal and surface refinement are required.
This half round file covers two filing geometries in a single tool. The flat face handles flat and convex surfaces, while the curved face is used for concave profiles, slots, and radiused recesses. At 8 inches, it is a standard bench-file length appropriate for maintenance shops, fabrication benches, and tool-and-die work. Machinists, toolmakers, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians are the typical users. The Cut 2 tooth pattern makes it practical for deburring, fitting, and light stock removal on stainless steel components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use hand file compatible with standard file handles accepting a tang-style attachment, suitable for bench filing on stainless steel and similar metal workpieces.
A file handle should always be seated firmly on the tang before use to prevent hand injury from an exposed tang point. Files should be used with controlled forward strokes and lifted on the return stroke to preserve tooth life. Never use a file without a handle, and never hammer or pry with a file, as the hardened steel is brittle and can fracture under lateral stress.
