The PENTAIR 462048 is a smart heater bypass kit designed to work with Pentair pool heating systems to automatically manage water flow through the heater when it is not actively heating. When the heater is idle, the bypass valve diverts most of the flow around the heater body, reducing head loss across the hydraulic circuit and lowering the work load on the circulation pump. This reduces pump energy consumption and limits unnecessary wear on internal heater components. The kit is installed by a licensed pool or HVAC technician as part of an integrated pump-and-heater system.

This bypass kit is intended for use with Pentair MasterTemp heaters in conjunction with a Pentair IntelliFlo VF variable-flow pump.
