The PENTAIR 155111-43 is a granular activated carbon (GAC) cartridge filter designed to reduce taste, odor, and sediment in residential and light commercial plumbing water treatment systems. At 20 inches in length with a 2.875-inch outside diameter and a 20-micron rating, this cartridge fits standard sump-style filter housings and delivers broad-spectrum absorption across a wide flow range. It is rated for operating pressures up to 11 psi and handles water temperatures from 40 degrees F to 125 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the primary installers.
This cartridge is suited for point-of-entry and point-of-use water filtration applications where chlorine byproducts, organic compounds, and fine sediment affect water quality. Typical installations include whole-house filter systems, under-sink pre-filters, and commercial food-service water treatment lines. The maximum absorption style designation indicates the carbon media is optimized for high contaminant uptake rather than simple mechanical filtration alone.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 20-inch sump-style water filtration housings accepting a 2.875-inch OD cartridge.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before opening the filter housing and removing the spent cartridge. Inspect the housing O-ring for wear and replace if necessary before seating the new cartridge. Do not exceed the rated 11 psi operating pressure during service or operation.
