The PARLEC EXT500 is a straight-shank collet chuck designed for precision CNC milling and machining center applications using the DA300 double angle collet system. It accepts tool shanks from 0.0313 inches to 0.25 inches in diameter, with a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0004 inches for high-accuracy tool holding. The chuck features a 1.322-inch projection and a shank diameter of 0.5 inches, making it well-suited for close-tolerance operations where repeatability and low runout are critical. Through-spindle coolant capability is built in, supporting high-speed machining with directed coolant delivery to the cutting zone. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments install this chuck as a standard toolholding solution.
The EXT500 is used in vertical and horizontal machining centers that accept straight-shank toolholders with a 0.5-inch shank diameter. It is appropriate for light to medium milling, drilling, and reaming operations where small-diameter tooling and tight tolerances are required. The DA300 collet series accommodates a wide range of collet sizes within its capacity range, giving operators flexibility across multiple tool diameters without changing the chuck body. Through-coolant capability makes it suitable for deep-reach or high-speed passes where flood cooling is insufficient.
Designed for use with DA300 series double angle collets. Compatible with machining centers accepting a straight shank of 0.5-inch diameter. Confirm spindle interface and collet nut engagement before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the chuck. Use the appropriate collet nut wrench to torque the collet nut evenly; do not use pipe extensions or impact tools on the nut. Verify TIR with a dial indicator after assembly before initiating a cut.
