The PARLEC ER16-0281 is an ER16 series collet designed for use in CNC machining centers, milling machines, and drilling applications. It accepts tooling with a clamping capacity of 0.281 inches and features a minimum collet capacity of 0.242 inches, allowing it to securely grip a range of shank diameters within that range. The overall length measures 1.082 inches and the overall diameter is 0.669 inches. Machinists and tool crib technicians rely on ER-style collets for their consistent concentricity, quick tool changes, and wide compatibility with ER16 collet chucks across major toolholding systems.
This collet is suited for light-duty to medium-duty machining operations including end milling, drilling, reaming, and tapping where ER16 toolholding is specified. Its compact size makes it appropriate for smaller-diameter tooling in both production and job-shop environments. The ER16 series is commonly found on benchtop CNC machines, high-speed spindles, and manual milling equipment where space and weight are considerations.
Designed as a standard ER16 series collet for use with ER16-compatible collet chucks and toolholders in CNC and manual machining applications.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the collet chuck spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing collets. Clean the collet bore and chuck taper of chips and coolant residue before seating the collet. Use the appropriate ER16 collet nut and spanner wrench to achieve proper clamping torque per the chuck manufacturer specifications.
