The PARLEC DA180-0468 is a double angle collet designed for use with DA180-series collet chucks in CNC machining and manual milling applications. It accepts round shank tooling with a capacity range of 0.4531 to 0.4688 decimal inches, covering the 15/32 inch nominal size. The collet measures 1.639 inches overall length and 1.025 inches overall diameter. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this collet when high-concentricity workholding is required for end mills, drills, reamers, and similar cutting tools. The double angle design provides secure clamping force across the full collet bore, reducing tool pullout risk under cutting load.
This collet is suited for production machining environments in both job shops and manufacturing facilities. It fits DA180-series collet chucks used in vertical and horizontal machining centers, knee mills, and similar spindle platforms. Typical applications include finish milling, drilling, and reaming operations where consistent tool runout control is critical. Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician during tool setup or changeover.
Designed for use with DA180-series collet chucks. Confirm chuck series and bore specifications before installation to ensure proper fit and clamping performance.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing collets. Inspect the collet bore and chuck taper for chips, burrs, or damage before seating. Use the correct spanner wrench or collet nut wrench rated for the chuck size - never use a pipe extension or impact wrench on the collet nut.
