The PARLEC DA100-5MM is a double angle collet designed for use in DA100-series collet chucks on CNC machining centers, milling machines, and drilling applications. It holds a 5mm (0.1969 inch) tool shank with a secure double-angle gripping geometry that distributes clamping force evenly along the collet bore for consistent runout control. The overall length is 1.437 inches and the outside diameter measures 0.769 inches. Machinists and tooling technicians use this collet for high-cycle production setups where reliable tool retention and quick changeover are essential.
This collet is suited for light-to-medium duty metal cutting operations in both job shop and production environments. Typical applications include end milling, drilling, reaming, and tapping where a 5mm tool shank must be held rigidly in a DA100 collet chuck. The double angle design is common in general-purpose CNC and manual machining setups where a wide range of tool diameters are run in a single chuck body.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling collet for DA100 series collet chuck bodies requiring a 5mm bore collet.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the collet chuck and spindle are fully de-energized and the machine is in a safe lockout state before changing collets. Clean the collet bore and chuck taper seat of chips and coolant residue before seating the collet. Use the appropriate torque wrench and DA100 spanner nut tool to tighten the retention nut to the chuck manufacturer's specified torque - do not over-tighten by impact or improvised tooling, as this can distort the collet bore and degrade runout.
