The PARLEC C50-77TR4C is a rigid tapping chuck with a CAT50 taper shank, designed for CNC machining centers where accurate, high-torque tapping is required. Rigid-style tapping relies on the machine's own synchronization between spindle speed and feed rate, making this chuck a direct, no-compensate solution for synchronized tapping operations. The chuck accepts taps from M5 to M33 (No. 6 to 1-5/8 inches) and features a 3.75-inch projection from the spindle face. Through-coolant capability allows cutting fluid to be delivered directly to the tap, extending tool life and improving chip evacuation in deep-hole applications. Installation and tooling changes are facilitated by a quick-change interface on the nose side.
This tapping chuck is suited for production and job-shop environments running CNC vertical or horizontal machining centers with CAT50 spindles. It handles general-purpose tapping in steel, aluminum, cast iron, and similar materials across a broad tap-size range. Pipe tap capacity runs from 1/16 inch up to 1-1/4 inches, covering most common NPT fitting sizes encountered in manifold blocks, housings, and structural weldments. The 2.310-inch nose diameter provides rigidity and clearance in typical fixture setups. Machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary users of this toolholder.
Designed for use in CAT50 spindle machining centers equipped with rigid tapping synchronization. Compatible with quick-change tap adapters sized for the M5 to M33 tap capacity range.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the taper shank toolholder. Ensure the CAT50 taper and retention knob are clean and free of chips before seating the chuck. Verify the machine control is configured for rigid tapping mode before running a tapping cycle.
