The PARLEC C40-32ERP248 is an ER32 collet chuck with a CAT40 taper shank, designed for precision toolholding in CNC machining centers. It accepts ER32 collets with a capacity range of 0.078 to 0.787 inches, covering a wide variety of drill, end mill, and reamer shank sizes. The chuck features a 2.48-inch projection from gauge line and holds a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0002 inches, supporting tight-tolerance work. Balanced to 25,000 RPM, it is suited for high-speed spindle applications. Through-coolant capability routes coolant directly to the cutting edge for improved chip evacuation and tool life. A licensed machinist or CNC setup technician performs the installation.
This collet chuck is intended for use in CAT40-spindle vertical and horizontal machining centers where ER32 toolholding is specified. The 2.48-inch projection makes it well-suited for applications requiring moderate reach without sacrificing rigidity. The through-coolant design supports high-speed drilling, reaming, and milling operations where direct coolant delivery is required. The 50.00 mm nose diameter and 1.97-inch collet nut diameter are standard ER32 dimensions, allowing use with any ER32-series collet from any compatible supplier.
Designed for use in CAT40-taper machining center spindles with ER32-series collets. Accepts any standard ER32 collet within the 0.078 to 0.787 inch capacity range.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. The spindle must be fully powered down and the machine placed in a safe lockout state before mounting or removing the chuck. Use the appropriate CAT40 pull-stud and torque the collet nut with a proper ER32 spanner wrench - do not use improvised tools that could damage the collet nut or chuck bore. Verify TIR with a dial test indicator after seating the collet and workpiece shank before initiating a cut.
