The PARLEC C40-18DC5 is a DA180 double angle collet chuck designed for CNC machining centers and milling operations requiring precise, high-speed tool holding. Mounted on a CAT40 taper shank, it accepts DA180-series collets with a capacity range of 0.0313 to 0.75 inches, covering a broad selection of cutting tool shanks. The chuck features through-spindle coolant delivery, directing fluid directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and tool life. Runout is rated at 0.0004 inches TIR, supporting tight-tolerance work across a range of materials and operations. Installation and removal follow standard CAT40 toolholder procedures and is performed by qualified CNC setup technicians or machinists.
The C40-18DC5 is suited for use in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers equipped with CAT40 spindles. Its 5.15-inch projection provides clearance for workpiece fixturing and allows access into deeper cavities or tall part features. The DA180 collet series is a common double angle standard, making collet sourcing straightforward for shops already using this system. This chuck is appropriate for production and job-shop environments where consistent runout and coolant-through capability are required.
Designed for use with DA180-series double angle collets in CAT40-spindle CNC machining centers. Accepts collets covering tool shank diameters from 0.0313 to 0.75 inches.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use a CAT40-compatible toolholder tightening fixture and the appropriate pull stud for your machine spindle specification. Confirm through-coolant passages are clear and that the collet is properly seated before torquing. Verify runout at the collet nose with a dial indicator after installation to confirm TIR is within specification.
