The PARLEC C40-16ERF250 is an ER16 collet chuck with a CAT40 taper shank, designed for precision toolholding on CNC machining centers. It accepts ER16 collets with a capacity range of 0.50 mm to 10.00 mm (0.0197 to 0.3937 inches), covering a wide range of small-diameter cutting tools. The chuck features a 2.5 inch projection from gauge line to nose, an overall length of 5.19 inches, and a total indicated runout (TIR) of 0.0002 inches for tight tolerancing on finish and drilling operations. Through-spindle coolant delivery is supported, directing coolant directly to the cutting zone. This toolholder is installed and set up by machinists and CNC setup technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This chuck is suited for vertical and horizontal machining centers equipped with CAT40 spindles. It is commonly used in applications requiring small-diameter end mills, drills, reamers, or taps held in ER16 collets. The through coolant feature makes it a strong choice for deep-hole drilling, high-speed finishing, and operations on materials that generate significant heat at the cutting edge. The chuck is balanced to 25,000 RPM, supporting high-speed machining strategies on modern CNC equipment.
Designed for use with CAT40 spindle machines and ER16 coolant collets. Requires ER16 series collets sold separately. Compatible with any machining center accepting a standard CAT40 taper toolholder interface.
Installation requires a CAT40-compatible spindle and an appropriate pull stud torqued to machine manufacturer specifications. Power down and lock out the machining center before changing toolholders. Use the correct ER16 collet wrench and spanner to seat and torque the collet nut; do not use substitute tools that may damage the nut or collet taper. Verify TIR at setup with a dial indicator to confirm the collet is fully seated before running at speed.
