The PARLEC 5UMER32-0250 is an ER32 series precision collet designed for CNC machining centers, milling machines, and similar rotating spindle applications. Built to hold a 0.25 inch shank diameter with a minimum collet capacity of 0.211 inches, this collet delivers a total indicated runout (TIR) of 0.0002 inches, making it suitable for close-tolerance work. The overall length is 1.574 inches. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this collet into a compatible ER32 collet chuck to secure cutting tools, drills, end mills, and other round-shank tooling during precision material removal operations.
This collet is used in production machining and toolroom environments where consistent tool holding and low runout are critical. Typical applications include milling, drilling, reaming, and tapping operations performed on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills equipped with ER32 collet chucks. The 1/4 inch size is among the most common in general metalworking and light industrial shops, fitting a wide range of standard cutting tool shank sizes.
Designed for use with ER32 collet chucks and ER32 toolholders accepting standard ER32 series collets with a 0.25 inch clamping diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before inserting or removing the collet, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy is isolated per lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the collet fully into the collet chuck nut before threading onto the chuck body to prevent damage to the collet taper. Inspect the collet bore and chuck taper for chips or contamination prior to assembly to maintain rated TIR performance.
