The PARKER WC39R20 is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. Constructed from acetate cotton wound over a tinned steel core, this filter delivers 1 micron filtration across a 20-inch length with a 2.5-inch outside diameter. The string-wound construction provides graduated density filtration, capturing sediment and particulate from the outside of the cartridge inward. It is rated for water temperatures up to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for both cold and hot water service lines. Licensed plumbers and filtration system technicians are the primary installers for this type of cartridge.
The WC39R20 is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing filtration systems where fine particulate removal is required. Its 1 micron rating makes it appropriate for pre-filtration ahead of sensitive downstream equipment or for point-of-entry sediment reduction. The 20-inch length fits standard big-blue or industry-standard 20-inch filter housings commonly found in whole-house and commercial water treatment installations. The acetate cotton media and tinned steel core provide reliable performance across a wide range of water conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit cartridge for standard 20-inch plumbing filter housings that accept 2.5-inch outside diameter string-wound cartridges.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing or removing the spent cartridge. Inspect the housing O-ring for wear or damage before reinstalling and hand-tighten the housing sump to manufacturer specifications to avoid cracking. Do not exceed the rated working temperature of 250 degrees F in service.
