The PARKER WC19R10 is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. Constructed from acetate cotton wound over a tinned steel core, it provides depth filtration at a 10 micron rating, capturing sediment, sand, rust particles, and other suspended solids before they reach downstream equipment. The cartridge measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter and 10 inches in length, fitting standard 10-inch filter housings. It supports a maximum working temperature of 250 degrees F, making it suitable for both cold and hot water supply lines. Plumbers and water treatment technicians are the primary installers.
This cartridge is used in residential and light commercial water filtration systems where sediment control is required ahead of fixtures, appliances, water heaters, or point-of-use systems. String-wound construction provides a gradient density profile that maximizes dirt-holding capacity and extends service life compared to surface-only filter media. It is a common choice for whole-house sediment pre-filtration and process water intake lines where consistent particulate control is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard 10-inch string-wound sediment cartridge filter housings used in residential and light commercial plumbing filtration systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before opening the filter housing. Follow local plumbing codes, including applicable IPC requirements, when installing or servicing filtration equipment. Do not exceed the rated maximum working temperature of the cartridge or housing assembly.
