The PARKER WC11R30 is a string-wound plumbing cartridge filter designed for sediment removal in water filtration systems. Built from acetate cotton wound over a tinned steel core, this filter captures particulates at a 50 micron rating, making it effective for general-purpose prefiltration in commercial and residential plumbing lines. At 30 inches in length and 2.5 inches outside diameter, it fits standard Big Blue and equivalent large-format filter housings. Rated to 250 degrees F, it handles hot-water service where many standard polypropylene filters cannot. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the primary installers.
The WC11R30 is suited for potable water prefiltration, process water lines, irrigation supply, and light industrial applications where coarse-to-medium sediment removal is required upstream of finer filtration stages or point-of-use equipment. The 50 micron rating handles sand, silt, rust scale, and similar suspended solids. Its 30-inch length provides extended surface area and service life compared to standard 10-inch or 20-inch cartridges, reducing changeout frequency in higher-flow or higher-sediment-load installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for large-format string-wound filter housings accepting a 2.5-inch OD, 30-inch length cartridge.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or water treatment technician. Shut off the supply water and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing O-ring and replace it if cracked or deformed before reseating the cartridge. Follow applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for potable water system components.
