Measuring 20 inches in length with a 2.5-inch outside diameter, this filter delivers sediment removal down to 1 micron, making it effective for capturing fine particulates including silt, dirt, rust, and sand. The string-wound construction creates a graded density from the outer surface to the inner core, which improves dirt-holding capacity compared to flat-media alternatives. The polypropylene cotton media and polypropylene plastic core meet FDA material grade standards, supporting use in potable water systems where material compliance matters.
This cartridge filter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems, whole-house sediment filtration, pre-treatment ahead of softeners or reverse osmosis units, and industrial process water lines. It is rated for a maximum working temperature of 120 degrees F, making it appropriate for cold and ambient-temperature water service. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the primary installers. Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing.
