The PARKER M23R30A is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water treatment applications. Built from polypropylene cotton with a polypropylene plastic core, it delivers a 5-micron filtration rating that captures sediment, dirt, and particulate from water supply lines. At 30 inches long with a 2.5-inch outside diameter, this is a large-format filter element suited for high-flow or high-capacity filter housings. Materials meet FDA grade standards, and the maximum working temperature is 120 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the primary installers.
This filter cartridge is used in residential and light commercial water filtration systems where sediment reduction is required upstream of fixtures, water heaters, or treatment equipment. The string-wound construction provides depth filtration, meaning particulate is captured throughout the media rather than only at the surface, extending service intervals compared to surface-only filter styles. It fits standard sump-style housings that accept 2.5-inch OD cartridges at 30 inches in length.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard sump-style filter housings that accept 2.5-inch OD, 30-inch string-wound cartridge elements.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing and replacing the cartridge. Inspect the housing O-ring for wear or deformation at each cartridge change. Follow all applicable local plumbing codes, including IPC guidelines, when installing or servicing inline filtration equipment.
