The PARKER M15R20A is a string-wound polypropylene cotton cartridge filter designed for point-of-entry and inline plumbing filtration applications. Measuring 20 inches in length with a 2.5-inch outside diameter, this filter delivers 20-micron particle retention to remove sediment, sand, rust, and other suspended solids from water supply lines. The string-wound construction provides graduated density from the outer surface to the inner core, which improves dirt-holding capacity and extends service life between changeouts. The polypropylene cotton media and polypropylene plastic core are rated to FDA material grade standards, making this filter suitable for potable water systems. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the primary installers.
This filter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where sediment reduction is required upstream of water heaters, softeners, RO units, or fixture supply lines. The 20-micron rating targets coarse-to-medium particulate loads. At a maximum working temperature of 120 degrees F, it is appropriate for cold and cool water service lines but is not rated for hot water applications. The FDA-grade materials support use in drinking water and food-service water supply contexts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 20-inch plumbing filter housings that accept a 2.5-inch outside diameter string-wound cartridge.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before opening the filter housing to replace the cartridge. Follow local plumbing code requirements, including IPC guidelines, for potable water filtration installations. Do not exceed the rated maximum working temperature of 120 degrees F or use this cartridge in applications requiring finer filtration than 20 microns without verifying suitability.
