The PARKER GEC-2 is a compression tube union designed to join two lengths of tubing in a straight inline configuration without the need for threading or soldering. Constructed from Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), this fitting offers excellent chemical resistance and is well-suited for applications involving aggressive fluids, high-purity fluid transfer, or corrosive environments. The plastic grip-style compression mechanism secures 1/8-inch outside diameter tubing on each end, creating a leak-resistant connection. Plumbers, instrumentation technicians, and chemical process specialists typically install this type of fitting in low-flow tubing systems.
This union fitting is appropriate for use in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings where small-diameter tubing runs require a reliable, chemically inert joining method. Installation of compression tube fittings is typically performed by licensed plumbers or qualified instrumentation technicians. Before making or breaking any tubing connection, depressurize the system completely and isolate the fluid source. Insert tubing to full depth into the fitting body before tightening the compression nut to ensure a proper seal. Do not overtighten plastic compression fittings, as excess torque can crack the fitting body or distort the grip mechanism.
