The PARKER B8V4BCNXXA is a 3/4 inch NPT normally closed solenoid valve designed for fluid control in industrial and commercial piping systems. This two-way valve uses electromagnetic actuation to control flow, defaulting to a closed position when de-energized. The valve body is cast aluminum with a Buna-N elastomer seal, making it suitable for a range of compatible media within its rated temperature and pressure limits. It is rated for working pressures from 35 psi to 145 psi and a maximum operating temperature of 120 degrees F. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this type of valve in water, air, and compatible fluid lines where automated shutoff or flow control is required.
This valve is suited for residential and light commercial applications including water supply lines, irrigation controls, compressed air systems, and HVAC fluid circuits. The 3/4 inch NPT threaded connection makes it compatible with standard pipe fittings common in these installations. The normally closed design ensures the valve defaults to a safe shutoff state during power loss, which is a key consideration in automated control systems. Note that the solenoid coil is not included with this valve body and must be sourced separately before installation.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and ANSI standards. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before installing or removing the valve. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to NPT threads per standard practice and tighten to hand-snug plus a firm quarter to half turn — do not over-torque aluminum-bodied fittings. Confirm the solenoid coil voltage and wiring are matched to the control circuit before energizing.
