The PARKER 8MSC8N-B is a brass compression tube connector designed to join copper or soft metal tubing to a male NPT threaded port. It features a compression fitting on one end and a male NPT thread on the other, making it a standard inline transition fitting used in instrumentation, fluid power, and process piping systems. The connector is rated to 2200 psi maximum working pressure and conforms to ASME-SB75 and ASTM-B75 material standards. At 1.93 inches overall length and 0.2 pounds, it is a compact, durable fitting suited for tight spaces in both residential and light commercial installations.
This fitting is used wherever a compression tube connection must transition to a male NPT threaded port. Typical applications include instrument tubing connections, control line plumbing, refrigeration and HVAC sensing line hookups, hydraulic pilot lines, and general fluid system assemblies. The 1/2-inch thread size makes it appropriate for medium-bore tubing runs. It is installed by plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians working on systems that require a reliable, leak-resistant tube-to-pipe transition without soldering or welding.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with 1/2-inch compression tube and 1/2-inch male NPT threaded ports in instrumentation, fluid power, and process piping systems. Cross-references to Swagelok part number B-810-1-8.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and ASME B31 piping code requirements. Depressurize and isolate the system before making or breaking any fitting connection. Hand-tighten the compression nut first, then apply the manufacturer-recommended additional turns with a wrench — do not over-tighten, as this can deform the ferrule and compromise the seal. Inspect the completed connection for leaks before returning the system to service.
