The PARKER 6-8 FBU-S is a flareless bite-type tube male connector designed for high-pressure hydraulic and instrumentation tubing systems. It uses a 24-degree flared angle bite-sleeve design that grips the tube OD without requiring tube flaring, creating a reliable metal-to-metal seal rated to 6,000 psi maximum working pressure. The male thread end is 1/2 inch NPTF, which forms a pressure-tight mechanical seal when properly torqued into a mating port. Constructed from steel for durability in demanding service environments, this straight fitting has an overall length of 1.6 inches and a hex size of 0.94 inches. It is sold and packaged as a single unit and is intended for installation by licensed hydraulic, plumbing, or industrial piping technicians.
This fitting is suited for use in hydraulic systems, high-pressure fluid lines, and instrumentation tubing circuits in both industrial and commercial service environments. It connects 3/8 inch OD tubing to a 1/2 inch NPTF threaded port on pumps, manifolds, cylinders, or other hydraulic components. The flareless bite-type design is commonly used where tube flaring equipment is not practical or where consistent leak-free performance under pressure cycling and vibration is required.
Designed for use with 3/8 inch OD tubing and 1/2 inch NPTF threaded ports. Suitable as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting in hydraulic and high-pressure instrumentation tubing assemblies that accept 6 x 8 flareless bite-type connectors.
Installation should be performed by a qualified hydraulic or industrial piping technician familiar with flareless bite-type fittings. De-pressurize and isolate the hydraulic circuit completely before removing or installing any fittings. Pre-set the bite sleeve onto the tubing using the appropriate Parker presetting tool or a mating port per manufacturer procedure before final assembly. Follow applicable fluid power system codes and the fitting manufacturer's assembly instructions for proper sleeve engagement and thread engagement depth.
