The PARKER 23R30 is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. It features a cotton winding construction over a tinned steel core, producing a 5-micron filtration rating that captures sediment, rust particles, and other suspended solids. The cartridge measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter and 30 inches in length, fitting standard housing configurations used in industrial and commercial water treatment systems. All materials meet FDA grade requirements, and the filter is rated for service up to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for hot-water and process-fluid applications. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the primary installers.
The 23R30 is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial water filtration setups where sediment reduction is required ahead of sensitive equipment such as water heaters, boilers, heat exchangers, or downstream plumbing fixtures. The string-wound design creates a graduated density profile from the outer surface to the core, which increases dirt-holding capacity compared to flat-sheet media. Applications include potable water pre-filtration, process water conditioning, and irrigation system protection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 2.5-inch OD, 30-inch large-format filter housings used in residential and commercial plumbing and water treatment systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing O-ring for wear and replace if needed before inserting the new cartridge. Do not exceed the rated operating temperature or pressure limits of the housing assembly.
