The PARKER 169C-5-6 is a brass compression tube male elbow fitting designed to connect a compression tube line to a male NPT threaded port at a 90-degree angle. It features a 3/8-18 NPTF thread on the male end and a compression-style connection on the tube end, making it suitable for use in hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid transfer systems. Rated to 300 psi maximum working pressure and capable of handling temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this fitting is built for demanding service environments. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this type of fitting in both residential and light commercial applications.
This fitting is well suited for plumbing, refrigeration, and instrumentation line installations where a tube-to-pipe-thread elbow connection is required. The compression end eliminates the need for soldering or flaring, allowing for a secure, leak-resistant connection without heat. It is a standard choice when routing tubing into a threaded port at a right angle in tight or confined spaces. The NPTF thread standard provides a pressure-tight seal at the thread interface, reducing reliance on thread sealant compounds.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install fitting for compression tube-to-male NPT elbow applications in plumbing, HVAC, and fluid transfer systems using 3/8-18 NPTF threaded ports.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC requirements. Depressurize and isolate the line before removing or installing any compression fitting. Hand-tighten the compression nut and then snug with a wrench — avoid overtightening, which can crack the ferrule or distort the tube end. Inspect the tube end for squareness and burrs before seating in the compression fitting.
