The PARKER 168CA-4-2 is a brass compression tube gage tee fitting designed to connect a 1/4-inch outside diameter tube to a 1/8-27 NPTF pipe thread. It provides a branch port for attaching a pressure gage or instrument to an active line without interrupting flow. The fitting is rated to 1,400 psi maximum working pressure and handles temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. The brass body resists corrosion in a wide range of fluid and gas service applications. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters typically install this type of fitting in refrigeration, instrumentation, and hydraulic plumbing systems.
This fitting suits residential and light commercial applications where a gage or sensor tap is required on a small-diameter tube line. The compression end accepts 1/4-inch OD tubing without brazing or soldering, making it practical for field installations where open flame is restricted or inconvenient. The NPTF pipe thread end creates a pressure-tight mechanical seal on standard tapered pipe ports. It is well-suited for refrigerant, hydraulic fluid, compressed air, and similar instrumentation plumbing services.
Designed as an OEM-style compression fitting for systems using 1/4-inch OD tubing with a 1/8-27 NPTF pipe thread gage or instrument port.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable system codes. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before disassembling any fitting or tube connection. Ensure tubing is cut cleanly and deburred before inserting into the compression end to prevent leaks. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as brass fittings can deform under excess torque.
