The PARKER 164HD-8 is a brass compression tube union designed to join two lengths of tubing in a straight-line configuration using compression-style end connections on both sides. Built from solid brass, this union provides a reliable, leak-resistant seal without soldering or special tooling. It is rated for a maximum working pressure of 1150 psi and handles temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding fluid and gas handling applications across a range of trade environments. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and instrumentation installers commonly use compression unions where a reusable, tool-accessible connection is needed in a tight or serviceable location.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant lines, pneumatic systems, and instrumentation tubing applications where a 1/2 inch outside diameter tube must be joined end to end. Compression fittings are commonly chosen in retrofit and repair scenarios where soldered or flared connections are impractical. The three-piece compression design allows the fitting to be disassembled and reinstalled in the field, which is useful in service and maintenance contexts.
Designed as an OEM-style compression union for use with 1/2 inch outside diameter tubing in plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems requiring compression-style end connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified HVAC technicians. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any compression fitting. Do not overtighten the compression nut — finger-tight plus a controlled fraction of a turn with a wrench is the standard practice for brass compression fittings. Ensure tubing ends are cut square and deburred before seating against the ferrule to achieve a proper seal.
