The PARKER 15R20A is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration systems where sediment and particulate control is required. Wound from FDA-grade cotton over a polypropylene core, this filter delivers 20-micron filtration in a standard 2.5-inch OD by 20-inch body. The string-wound construction creates a graduated density from the outer layer to the core, improving dirt-holding capacity compared to uniform-density media. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians install this filter in residential and light commercial applications as a sediment pre-filter or point-of-entry stage.
This filter fits standard 20-inch Big Blue or equivalent filter housings used in whole-house filtration, irrigation pre-filtration, and commercial water conditioning systems. Its 20-micron rating makes it appropriate as a first-stage sediment filter upstream of finer membrane or carbon block stages. The cotton media is rated for service at water temperatures up to 120 degrees F, keeping it within range for cold and warm water supply lines in typical plumbing installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service cartridge for standard 20-inch Big Blue and equivalent 2.5-inch OD filter housings used in residential and light commercial plumbing filtration systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing O-ring and replace if cracked or deformed to prevent bypass leakage. Do not exceed the rated maximum working temperature of 120 degrees F.
