The PANDUIT UTPKSP10RD is a keyed copper patch cord designed for structured cabling installations in commercial and enterprise network environments. Keyed patch cords use a proprietary connector design that physically restricts unauthorized or unintended cable connections, making them well suited for high-security or change-managed network closets. Licensed electricians, low-voltage cabling contractors, and network infrastructure technicians are the primary installers of this type of cord. The keyed connector body pairs with matching keyed keystone jacks or patch panels to enforce port-level access control without additional hardware.
This patch cord is intended for use in horizontal or cross-connect runs inside telecommunications rooms, data centers, and structured cabling systems. It fits into rack-mounted patch panels and wall-mounted faceplates that accept the corresponding keyed format. The red jacket color supports color-coded port management schemes commonly used to identify network segments, VLAN groups, or security zones. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both new installations and moves, adds, and changes in existing cabling infrastructure.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or original installation patch cord for use with compatible PANDUIT keyed patch panels and keystone jacks that accept the matching keyed connector format.
Installation is performed by low-voltage cabling contractors or network technicians following TIA-568 structured cabling standards. No power shutdown is required for patch cord installation, but active network ports should be confirmed before disconnecting any in-service cables to avoid unplanned outages. Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the cable jacket, and maintain the manufacturer-recommended minimum bend radius to preserve signal integrity. Keyed connectors must be paired with matching keyed jacks or panels and cannot be forced into standard unkeyed ports.
