The PANDUIT UTP28SP130BU is a Category 6 copper patch cord designed for structured cabling installations in commercial and residential network environments. Cat6 patch cords carry Ethernet data signals between network switches, patch panels, and end devices, operating at frequencies up to 250 MHz and supporting Gigabit and 10-Gigabit Ethernet applications at short distances. This cord uses unshielded twisted pair (UTP) copper conductors with 28 AWG construction, making it well suited for high-density patching scenarios where cable management and bend radius in tight spaces are a priority.
The UTP28SP130BU is used in data centers, server rooms, telecommunications closets, and office network installations. Its Category 6 rating makes it appropriate for horizontal and patch applications in both new construction and retrofit cabling projects. Network technicians and low-voltage cabling contractors are the primary installers. The slim 28 AWG profile allows higher port density at patch panels compared to standard 24 AWG patch cords.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fitment patch cord for Category 6 and backward-compatible Category 5e structured cabling systems using standard RJ45 ports.
Installation is performed by low-voltage cabling technicians following TIA-568 structured cabling standards. Avoid sharp bends beyond the cable minimum bend radius and do not over-bundle cords with excessive tension from cable ties, as this can degrade Category 6 signal performance. Inspect RJ45 connectors for secure seating before closing patch panel doors or locking port covers.
