The PANDUIT SCL6-L is a copper compression butt splice connector used to join two conductors end-to-end in a permanent, low-resistance termination. Compression-style splices are installed with a die-based crimping tool that deforms the sleeve around both conductors, creating a gas-tight mechanical and electrical bond. This type of fitting is a standard solution in commercial and industrial wiring work where a reliable, maintenance-free splice is required. Licensed electricians and experienced electrical contractors typically install these fittings as part of feeder, branch circuit, or equipment grounding conductor work.
Copper compression butt splices are used in applications where aluminum or copper conductors need to be extended or joined within a conduit, junction box, or equipment enclosure. They are well suited for residential service work, commercial panel feeders, and light industrial installations. The compression design provides a more secure and durable connection than mechanical set-screw alternatives, particularly in environments with vibration or thermal cycling.
Designed as an OEM-style compression butt splice for use with copper conductors in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit before beginning any splice work. Use a calibrated compression crimping tool with the correct die set for the conductor size to ensure a proper crimp. Do not use open-flame or soldering methods as a substitute for the compression crimp.
