The PANDUIT SA2/0-L is an aluminum compression splice connector designed to join two aluminum conductors in a permanent, low-resistance connection. Compression splices of this type are installed by crimping with a calibrated compression tool, creating a cold-weld bond that meets the mechanical and electrical demands of power distribution wiring. The SA2/0-L is sized for 2/0 AWG aluminum conductor and is sold as a single unit. Electricians and linemen use this fitting in conduit runs, service entrance work, and feeder circuits where aluminum conductors must be spliced end-to-end.
This splice is suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations where aluminum feeder or service-entrance conductors require a code-compliant inline splice. Typical applications include panel feeder extensions, meter base connections, and utility service work. The compression design eliminates the need for split-bolt connectors or mechanical set-screw hardware, reducing the chance of conductor damage during installation.
Designed as an OEM-style compression splice for 2/0 AWG aluminum conductors used in residential and commercial power distribution feeder and service-entrance applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for aluminum conductor terminations and splices. De-energize and lock out the circuit completely before making any connections. Use a calibrated compression tool with the die set specified for this connector size to achieve a proper cold-weld crimp. Apply an oxide-inhibiting compound to aluminum conductor ends before insertion to prevent oxidation buildup at the joint over time.
