The PANDUIT LAA250-38-E is an aluminum compression lug designed for making secure, low-resistance terminations in electrical distribution and wiring applications. Compression lugs create a cold-weld mechanical bond between the conductor and the terminal barrel when properly crimped, eliminating oxidation pathways and maintaining conductivity over the service life of the connection. This lug is sold individually and is installed by licensed electricians working on power distribution panels, switchgear, service entrances, and related electrical systems.
Aluminum compression lugs are commonly used in residential and commercial electrical installations where aluminum conductors are terminated at buss bars, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, or equipment terminals. The aluminum construction is suited for direct aluminum-to-aluminum connections, reducing the risk of galvanic corrosion concerns that arise when dissimilar metals are joined without proper preparation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard compression lug for use in electrical panel, switchgear, and distribution equipment termination applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit before beginning any termination work. Use a calibrated compression tool rated for the lug barrel size and conductor gauge to ensure a proper crimp. Apply an appropriate antioxidant compound to aluminum conductors before insertion to prevent oxidation at the termination point.
