Panduit FXTYP5EL2SAF290 OM3 12-fiber Trunk Cable

Product Description

The PANDUIT FXTYP5EL2SAF290 is a 12-fiber OM3 multimode trunk cable rated OFNP (plenum) and terminated with an MPO female connector on one end and LC duplex connectors on the other. It is designed for high-density structured cabling installations in data centers, enterprise backbone runs, and telecommunications rooms. The plenum rating makes it suitable for air-handling spaces where fire and smoke codes require low-emission cable materials. Network technicians and low-voltage installers work with this cable type during trunk system builds and pre-terminated fiber infrastructure deployments.

This trunk cable fits into pre-terminated fiber systems where MPO-to-LC breakout configurations are required. The OM3 multimode fiber supports high-bandwidth applications including 10 Gigabit Ethernet and 40 Gigabit Ethernet over appropriate distances. It is used in rack-to-rack and zone-cabling topologies where modular, plug-and-play fiber connectivity is the standard approach. The OFNP plenum jacket rating satisfies installation requirements in raised-floor data centers and above-ceiling cable pathways governed by applicable fire codes.

Key Features

• OM3 multimode fiber supports 10GbE and 40GbE backbone applications
• OFNP plenum-rated jacket meets fire and smoke requirements for air-handling spaces
• MPO female to LC duplex configuration enables high-density breakout connectivity
• 12-fiber count in a single trunk simplifies dense structured cabling deployments
• Pre-terminated design reduces installation time and eliminates field termination errors

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for OM3 multimode MPO trunk fiber systems using LC duplex breakout panels and high-density patch enclosures.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage technician or licensed structured cabling professional familiar with fiber handling procedures. Clean all connectors with appropriate fiber cleaning tools before mating to avoid contamination-related signal loss. Do not exceed the minimum bend radius of the cable during routing, as kinking can cause permanent fiber damage. Follow applicable local fire codes and TIA-568 standards when routing through plenum spaces or penetrations.
