The PANDUIT CBX1BL-A is a single-port surface mount box designed for low-voltage network and telecommunications cabling installations. It provides a finished housing for a single keystone-style jack, allowing structured cabling runs to terminate cleanly at a wall or surface location without requiring in-wall routing or a recessed box. The unit is finished in black and is suited for use in offices, classrooms, server rooms, and any environment where surface-mounted outlet points are needed. Installation is handled by low-voltage technicians and structured cabling contractors.
This surface mount box is used in horizontal cabling runs where a flush wall box is not practical or where surface raceway systems are in use. It accepts a single keystone jack insert and provides a clean termination point for Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, or fiber patch connections depending on the jack selected. Typical applications include workstation drops, conference room AV connections, and access point mounting locations in commercial and light industrial settings.

Installation is typically performed by a licensed low-voltage or data cabling technician in accordance with TIA-568 structured cabling standards. Secure the box to the mounting surface before inserting the keystone jack to avoid stressing the termination. Ensure all cabling is routed and dressed before snapping the jack into the port opening. No high-voltage power shutdown is required, but all active network equipment connected to the run should be noted before disturbing existing terminations.
