The OZ GEDNEY ablg-4122 is a 4-inch trade size insulated grounding bushing designed for use on threaded rigid conduit and IMC installations. The body is copper-free aluminum with stainless steel screws and a phenolic insulated throat for electrical isolation at the conduit entry point. The lay-in, tin-plated copper saddle lug accepts grounding wire from 8 AWG solid or stranded up to 2/0 AWG stranded, accommodating both copper and aluminum conductors. Set-screw installation secures the grounding conductor without requiring special crimping tools. Rated to 150 degrees C, this bushing meets UL 467, UL 514B, and CSA 22.2 approval requirements.
This bushing is used in commercial and industrial electrical installations wherever threaded rigid metal conduit or IMC terminates at a panel, enclosure, or junction box requiring a grounded and insulated entry point. It is typically installed by licensed electricians during conduit termination work on service entrances, feeder runs, and branch circuit raceways. The 5-inch outside diameter and 3-5/8-inch turning radius with lug are relevant when planning termination clearances inside enclosures.
Designed for use on 4-inch trade size threaded rigid metal conduit and IMC.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for equipment grounding at conduit terminations. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before terminating conductors. Seat the bushing fully onto the threaded conduit end before tightening the set screw to secure the grounding conductor. Verify adequate clearance inside the enclosure for the 3-5/8-inch turning radius with the lug in place.
