The Oxbox J5AH5E61A1C00 is a 5-ton, multi-position, multispeed ECM air handler designed for residential split-system cooling and heat pump applications. The unit pairs with a matched outdoor condensing unit or heat pump using R-410A refrigerant and is engineered for convertible installation, meaning it can be configured for vertical upflow, vertical downflow, or horizontal airflow to suit the job. The ECM blower motor delivers variable-speed airflow control, which reduces energy consumption compared to standard PSC-motor units and provides quieter operation across all speed taps. Licensed HVAC technicians perform installation and startup on this class of equipment.
This air handler fits residential new-construction and replacement applications where a high-capacity, flexible-installation indoor unit is required. The convertible design makes it suitable for attic, closet, crawlspace, or basement installs. It is rated for use in mobile home applications per applicable airflow performance standards. The unit is compatible with electric heater kits for supplemental heat, with a dedicated breaker switch provision for that accessory. The 208/230-volt single-phase electrical supply is the standard configuration for this unit class. A SEER2 range of 15.2 to 40.0 applies when matched with appropriate outdoor equipment per AHRI-rated system combinations.
Designed for use in matched split systems using R-410A refrigerant with a SEER2 range of 15.2 to 40.0 when paired with appropriate Oxbox or compatible outdoor equipment per AHRI system ratings. Consult AHRI certificate data to confirm rated system combinations before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installer guide. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before making any wiring, refrigerant, or drain connections. Refrigerant line connections are copper sweat type; primary and auxiliary condensate drain connections are 3/4-inch female pipe thread (NPT). Supply air flanges are provided for field installation and ductwork must be sized to the unit airflow requirements before startup.
