The OSG VG436-5003 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. With a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length, this single-end tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in one setup. The 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.02-inch chamfer width breaks corners cleanly while the TiAlN PVD coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The 35-degree medium helix and variable flute index reduce harmonics and chatter, making this tool effective in challenging materials where vibration control matters. A Weldon flat shank ensures positive drive without slippage.
The VG436-5003 is suited for shouldering and slotting operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry where required. The stub length type and 1.5-inch reach length keep the tool rigid during aggressive passes. This end mill fits applications in job shops, aerospace, and general metalworking environments where a single tool must handle both material removal and edge chamfering without a tool change. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC machining center setups.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the Weldon flat shank in a matching end mill holder and torque the set screw against the flat per the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the tool diameter tolerance of +0.0000 to -0.0015 inches when selecting replacement tooling for close-tolerance applications.
