The OSG HP441-2500-BN is a 4-flute solid carbide ball end mill from the Hy-Pro-Carb HP441BN series, engineered for extended tool life in demanding material removal applications. It carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which improves heat resistance and wear performance at elevated cutting speeds. The 0.25-inch mill diameter pairs with a 0.75-inch length of cut and a 35-degree medium helix angle, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. Machinists in job shops, aerospace manufacturing, and precision fabrication facilities are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is designed for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where close-tolerance profiling, slotting, and contouring are required. Its submicron carbide material grade and TiAlN coating support aggressive feeds and speeds across a range of workpiece materials. It is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with a straight cylindrical shank, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders sized for a 0.25-inch shank diameter.
Rated for use in secondary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H). Fits any standard 0.25-inch collet, shrink-fit holder, or end mill holder with shank diameter tolerance h6.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians using a torque wrench and appropriate collet or tool holder rated for the 0.25-inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an E-stop or locked-out state before inserting or removing the tool. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating to protect both the tool and the workpiece. Refer to the OSG HP441BN series cutting data chart for recommended speeds and feeds based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
