The OSG HP441-1719 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It measures 0.1719 inches (11/64 inch) in cutting diameter with a 9/16 inch length of cut and a 3/16 inch shank diameter. The overall length is 2 inches. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a TiAlN coating, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention during high-speed cutting. The four-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 35-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry in addition to standard peripheral and slot milling.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials in both manual and CNC machining centers. It falls within the HP441 series, which is designed for general-purpose high-performance milling at regular length. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and contouring where tight tolerances and consistent tool life are required. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms.
Designed as a standard shank end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter, as commonly found on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or removing the tool. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the tool holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm that feeds and speeds are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
